Boarding directly onto joists crushes loft insulation and wipes out most of its thermal performance. We install 18 mm chipboard loft flooring raised on 6×2 timber joists (or LoftLegs where ceiling joists are too thin), giving you safe, walkable storage with the full insulation depth still working underneath. We also install insulated, airtight loft access hatches paired with stand-alone aluminium ladders, or wooden hatches with integrated timber ladders for easy access.
